"Legacy" Webchat

Hi,

 

I am going to learn how to build my own Chatbot, and I just opened "Channels and interfaces" from Dev Studio. I noticed that the Webchat is named as "Legacy". I believed that this is the one I should be creating for Chatbot, but am I wrong?

Is this deprecated in the current version (8.6)? Could someone please tell me why this is called "Legacy", and if that is the case, which one is supposed to be the substitue? And, whatever it is, what would be the difference between new channel and "Legacy" Webchat?

@CloeW938  - In 8.6 Webchat is now clubbed into Digital Messaging. The earlier webchat is now termed as Legacy webchat. Major difference between Legacy webchat and digital messaging is that using digital messaging you can switch between channels which is not possible using Legacy Webchat.

Thanks. My understanding was, Legacy Webchat is more for embedding into customer organization's website as Mashup, and Digital Messaging is for integration with other third-party messaging app (ex. Facebook Messenger, What's app, etc). Am I wrong?
