Hello,
Why Pega Blueprint data model deletes the new fields that you add manually. It keeps the new fields until you move to the summary stage only. When you create a PDF or Pega blueprint file, it deletes all the new fields you add it to the Data Model.

@Chaminda Batuwangala did you check to see if similar questions have been asked on the Pega Support Center?
You can use a key word search.
I found this question , perhaps that helps you?
Does this issue occur when you *import* the PDF into Pega (Creating a new application from a Blueprint), or whilst you are running the Blueprint mechanism itself?
If this is occurring during the Blueprint creation, can you confirm that you already used the Contact Pega’s Blueprint Team form on the Blueprint FAQ page?
@BrianPageau do you recognize the issue above?

When creating a data model, it's crucial to follow best practices and ensure that all necessary fields are added and saved correctly. Additionally, it's important to verify that the data model is properly configured and saved before proceeding to the summary stage or creating a PDF or Pega blueprint file.
For more detailed troubleshooting steps and best practices, you can refer to the "Creating a Data object with AI" documentation in the Pega Platform documentation.
This resource provides comprehensive guidance on creating and configuring data objects, including the necessary steps to ensure that new fields are not deleted when moving to the summary stage or creating PDF or Pega blueprint files.

@MarijeSchillernFrom the description I am assuming this issue is being experienced in the Pega Blueprint web site and not within the Pega Infinity authoring experiences. @Chaminda Batuwangala If you are collaborating with someone on the Blueprint, we have seen some race conditions that are causing a users changes to be lost. This is happening when different users are interacting with the Blueprint at the same time. Are you collaborating with anyone on the Blueprint in question?
If you can Contact Pega’s Blueprint Team with the Blueprint ID and the details of your issue, the team would be able to investigate further. The fields on on the Case Data Model should not be adjusted on any other step in the Blueprint process, but changes can fail to save in certain multiple user scenarios.

@BrianPageau , Thank you very much the reply.
I am using Pega Blueprint using my login and I am not collaborating with anyone. I created the Blueprint using AI Workflow Builder | Pega GenAI Blueprint.

@MarijeSchillern , Thank you very much for the reply.
I initially thought this is happening when you generate the PDF but later I found it is happening when you add more fields to the data model and move forward by clicking Next button. I created the Data Model three times now.
Thank you for sharing the Contact Pega Blueprint Team link. I will check with them this issue.

@MarijeSchillern , I still did not get an answer to my question that resolves the issue. I submitted the issue to the Contact Pega’s Blueprint Team few days back, but I still did not get an answer.

@ThomasW17236934Hi Tom, thanks for asking. As long as the application you were using can export a BPMN export file, it can be used and imported by Pega Blueprint. Please have a look to this article https://docs.pega.com/bundle/blueprint/page/platform/blueprint/blueprint-whats-new.html (July/August enhancements).

In BMPN, a pool is the conductor of a process, or acting as the container of a full business process, at least to me, it seems like a logic segregation between either case types, or to wait for external input. Why is blueprint not taking this BPMN practise into account?

@FrankH43 This is good feedback on options to refine how the AI to processes the BPMN. There is not a direct mapping of BPMN concepts to Pega's Case Types, Stages and Steps. In some scenarios representing a Pool as a Case Type will make sense, but in other models it will make sense to have multiple pools represented as a processes or stages within a single Case Type. A Pega Case type will involve multiple personas/organizations in a single Case Type. While in BPMN it can make sense to separate approval process that cross departments into different pools, modeling these approvals as Steps in a Case Lifecycle is valid approach. The BPMN import will create a best guess at a representation of the business processes in Pega's model. In Blueprint you have the tools to quickly iterate and evolve the suggested solution with your knowledge and expertise of the process. As Blueprint evolves you will see the concepts for modeling Case References and Child Cases introduced into the tool. This will avail user to more options into how a process is modeled. Utilizing child Cases to represent processes captured in Pools. As the tool evolves we will need to keep in mind how instruct the AI to handle Pools and Swimlanes.

Based on the textual input when creating the BluePrint, BluePrint creates personas. This might cover for persona it thinks a process should have, which is nice. However, I would expect BluePrint to use information placed into the pools and lanes of BMPN, to define persona and maybe propose other case types and persona afterwards based on the description. This is due that the ones in the lanes are already the pre-defined names the business has agreed and have been officialised in the function house. What is the reason BluePrint discards these?
