Meet Your Experts:
Elmarie joined Pega in early 2020 to lead the adoption and change management efforts with the methodology team. Before Pega, she spent 10 years in one of the big 4 consulting firms focusing on global services, data migrations, innovation, transformation, vendor relationship, and risk management. She has more than 25 years’ experience in building business capabilities, application and process optimization, program development in healthcare, financial services, and the Public sector. Elmarie has two master’s degrees, one in IT and another in Entrepreneurship as well as an undergraduate degree in Psychology. She is a Prosci change management certified practitioner.
Hi there! I’m Swetha and have about 12+ years of experience in the automation space. I’m a certified Senior System Architect and have used Pega for the last 6 years as a client. I enjoy helping teams to leverage the automation tools to achieve their vision and outcomes. I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and two children. We all love going out for a hike and there isn’t a better place than Portland for doing it.
In his role as Pega Express director, Ralph Booth is passionate about delivering programs. Ralph joined Pega initially as a project delivery lead before moving onto the client innovation team to work on Pega’s delivery approach. Today he supports the EMEA region, helping clients, partners, and Pega professionals deliver great results with Pega Express.

What is a MLP?
A MLP is comprised of one or more microjourneys providing business outcomes. Each MLP is a building block for organizational solutions and transformation. A MLP is different from a minimum viable product because a Minimum Lovable Product delivers a solution that is not only viable but desired and adoptable - one that provides high value.

I want to discuss, if we should really use Pega express approach or not. I agree that it provies low-code interface but at the same time we won't be having control as to which branch/which ruleset a rule should be saved and most important rule's name.
Can anyone please provide comments.

The Pega low-code approach is to empower organizations to build and change apps faster with scalable low-code capabilities. This includes Pega Express, but also the one inclusive authoring environment powered by case management that promotes productivity across the board. In Pega Infinity we have different studios available of which App Studio is the one that follows the design and best practices to assure applications get built according to the organizations guardrails. App Studio is also an effective studio to quick and efficiently deliver functionality and works seamless with Dev Studio. The rules that are being created by the configuration in Pega use the names specified in the configuration. There are just a few exceptions where generated rulenames are not functional (although the label is) and this behavior exists to help support predictable upgrades. The product team is working on making more logical names in future releases.

Around the use of branching in App Studio I would suggest to look at the branching preferences feature. Branch preferences allow a user to define the branch in which any changes the user is making in App Studio will be made; you can select the branch and ruleset the rules need to be added. For more info: https://docs-previous.pega.com/application-development/87/setting-branch-development-preferences. App Studio uses the Choose Best Ruleset algorithm to decide where to place a given rule. If you have a specific destination you would like to see a rule land.
