How to give a location of directory in another Linux server from PRPC extract rule?
Application server is Tomcat and OS is linux for the PRPC. We would like to generate the extract files in a directory of another Linux server. We would like to generate the XML file and send it to the directory of another server. The issue is how to give a location of the directory of another Linux server in the extract rule?

Does the other linux server has a mount point which the machine you are running PRPC can access to? Or if i misunderstand your question above?

We are still setting the other server as a stand alone BIX server. The team has given directory structure like
/www/Directory1/Direcotry2/TargetDirectory
When I give this location to the extract rule for xml file, I get an error saying non-existing directory or access issue. I believe the system is looking for the directory in the linux server where PRPC is installed but I know the directory is in another Linux server. and we need to give a path in a way that would point to another linux server where the we want to drop the xml files.

If you are running BIX from PRPC. The bottom line is that the location (remote or not) needs to be mounted as a directory for your PRPC server as defined in the extract rule. To verify this, login as the user running prpc instance, try to access the location from the unix command line.

What version of BIX are you running? There is a -P option available in 7.1.8+. You can save the directory in the extract rule to a valid directory on the app server, or even just ., for use when you run the extract from the UI and then when you run from the command line use -P to specify the directory location to write to on the machine that you are running the command line extract from.
When running a BIX extract from the command-line, using the -P option overrides the output directories specified on this tab, instead directing all files to a specified location.
