Login problems into the PRDC Designer Studio
I have downloaded and installed the necessary VMWare, now I try to login into the PRDC Designer Studio. I have tried the 'prpc:8080', the 'prpc.:8080' and the '<ipadres>:8080'. All I get is the 'page does not exist' message. What is it that I do wrong. I use windows10 with the edge browser. Thanks.

If your VMWARE image is running Linux/Ubuntu, which mostly like it is, log in as architect/password then issue "ifconfig".
You should see an IP address at the top similar to: Proprietary information hidden
You can either replace "prpc" with that address, e.g., http:// Proprietary information hidden:8080/prweb/PRServlet, then bookmark it, or do what I do:
- Create shortcut to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts on your desktop
- launch with Notepad.exe
- Add an entry such as:
Proprietary information hidden prpc # PVS
If you switch back and forth between PVS images frequently, you can add multiple "prpc"-like entries.
To keep track of what each etc/hosts entry does but not access it, append a few mnemonic characters to "prpc" plus add something to your # comment that describes what the PVS image contains, for example, such and such course material.
To go back to a previously used entry, simply remove the mnemonic characters at the end of "prpc" then add mnemonic characters to the existing "prpc" entry.
Simple and fast. Perhaps set your home page to http://prpc:8080 or http://prpc:8080/prweb/PRServlet.
If you browser does not load immediately, either your PVS is not running or your etc/hosts file is not configured correctly.

My conclusion is, based on your reply, that my PVS is not running or my etc/hosts file is not correctly configured. How do I know which of the two is the case and what to do next?

Note: we are no longer using VMware, we are using VirtualBox instead. Review the "Quick Start" guide then download VirtualBox at https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads. Most likely you want to select the x86/amd64 version. After installing VirtualBox, click on the ".vbox" file within the exercise system download.
If you have configured C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, verify that the IP address that is associated to "prpc" matches the IP address within your exercise system after executing the "ifconfig" command.
To verify that the IP address is reachable, bring up a command window, then issue "ping prpc". If nothing comes back, then you have a different problem.
As stated, your IP address should be similar to 192.168.
Within Machine -> Settings -> Network make certain you are using "Host-only Adapter".

Hi,
I encountered a similar issue. The guys at Self Study support helped me fix it. In my case the solution was to:
- Shutdown/Close the VM
- Open the settings (not preferences but settings, the gear icon)
- In the Network tab, make sure to select PCnet-FAST III as Adapter type
