Word Merge
When merging a word document with properties from pega is there a way to specify a format in the word document along with the field code? Or if I want a different format (like a certain date format) then I need to create a new property in Pega that holds this formatted value?

:I've read this documentation before and it doesn't help for my question. Let me ask this way.
So when I insert this
{pega:reference propertyreference }
into my word document and the property is a date property it comes out in word as 20170304 for example. I want a different format in word such as 03/04/2017. How do I do this? Sure I can create another property in Pega to convert the value but I don't want to do this. I want to specify the format within the word document instead of having to create all new properties and changing code in Pega.
