What is your favorite webinar/article for learning about what's new in Pega 7?
I am looking to keep up with what's new. Of course, I haven't time enough to keep up with my current projects, let alone look ahead! That's today's world, eh?
PegaSystems sets a fast pace for bringing out new features AND for repackaging and optimizing what's old. So I open the PDN. The PDN is a big place with an overwhelming amount of information. Every wrong path I follow is one fewer helpful path I didn't have time for. Hmm... I should optimize this search.
Time for some crowdsourcing. Have you watched a particularly interesting or effective Webinar?
Have you read an article that quickly taught you what you needed to know about new features?
What are some of the best resources you have found for learning about...
- the differences between Pega 6.x and Pega 7
- Pega 7.0 vs. Pega 7.1
One challenge in this pursuit is distinguishing how new something really is. For instance, the Access Manager in Pega 7 was very new. It significantly expanded/improved/changed the ease of managing Pega access and security. On the other hand, Case Management in Pega 7 wasn't as much of a revolution; it expands on some of what have always been strengths in the product. To someone first experiencing Pega, both features are equally new. To someone who has worked with PRPC since the dark ages of 3.0.1 (where any of you aware that such a version existed?!?), it was much more valuable for me to focus on the Access Manager.

I would start at the Pega Platform Landing Page on the PDN:

From there on the right hand side you should see some links to some "Introducing Pega 7" articles (Looks like 7.1.9 is not there yet but i have included the link below). I would suggest reviewing these in the order of release. I usually review these when a new version is release as they provide a high level overview of new features.

From there on the right hand side you should see some links to some "Introducing Pega 7" articles (Looks like 7.1.9 is not there yet but i have included the link below). I would suggest reviewing these in the order of release. I usually review these when a new version is release as they provide a high level overview of new features.
I would also suggest going to Pega Tube and searching for Pega 7 related videos as there are some great (usually short) overviews of new functionality. Suggestions for key word searches here (as there are a lot of videos) would be "Update" and "Pega 7"
Something that we didnt maintain before Pega 7 is a detailed Known Issues log posted on the PDN: https://pdn.pega.com/resolved-issues
As someone who works in Pega Global Customer Support, it's a nice thing to have, even though that information is available through other avenues, having it in one searchable place is much more manageable.

Well, I've just marked Marc's response as "Correct" and was returning to mark yours Correct also. But it appears that I can't mark more than one answer as "Correct", only "Helpful". Both your answers were helpful and correct. Yet I believe Marc will get a slight edge over you in the award of Pega Mesh Official Bonus Winkies (PMOBW's) for giving correct answers.
