Using Word Merge/Editing in Microsoft Edge
Our customer currently uses Pega 7.2.2 with IE11 and SilverLight to merge/edit MS Word in Pega application. They plan to move to MS Edge browser and the Pega 7.3.1 platform guide mentions that SilverLight is not supported in Edge. Client is asking us to reach out to Pegasystems to find out how we plan to support Word merge/editing in Edge that has no SilverLight capability.
Appreciate if you can provide answer that we can circle back to client.

For Word generation for things like DCO, all of that logic and processing has moved server side to avoid the issues with client side integration (e.g. ActiveX, SL)
I am not aware of specific plans to convert Word Merge to follow the same approach, because in doing so, it will lose the capability to allow for "live" edits.
But at some point the product teams will need to make a judgement call. Because I expect Edge to fully deprecate and replace IE11 at some point in the future. And we should be proactive so when/if that time comes we have a "replacement".
