Usage of adding Multiple Work groups to operator profile
HI All,
In PEGA 7, we have an option to add multiple work groups to an User, but the user will be defaulted to a single work group.
I Have two Queries here:
May i know what is the background of adding multiple Workgroups to a single user.
If you see in the access group level, the user can switch to some other role / application mapped to him. (if multiple access groups are added). Is there any such functionality in the work group level too.

Thanks for posting your query in PSC :)
An operator can only belong to one Workgroup, but they can be the Manager or Authorized Manager of multiple Workgroups. Refer post for some detailed documentation snippet.

Thanks for the update. I agree with the concept of workgroup.
My major confusion over here is why we have option for adding multiple work groups for a operator. In the earlier versions, we can add multiple access grroups to an user but can add only a single work group. But currently we have the option to add multiple work groups too in an operator profile. Juat want to know what is that is the background of having this feature.

@Rincy, From Pega 7.2 onwards, we provided the multiple work groups option to the operator work tab section.

Hi Arul,
After discussing with our Product Specialists, we introduced this feature to establish the concept of associating one user to multiple workgroups(teams).
Going forward, other entities such as 'get next work' would use this to receive work from workbaskets belonging to multiple teams and we are not sure about the timeline.

Thanks Mahesh for the info.
Hence the current implementation (7.2.2) of multiple work group in the operator profile is just a stub for future enhancements. Its not yet a working model.
Please confirm if I'm in the right direction.

So at long last I got a defintive answer for this question I had for months.
Question: what is the use of the possibility to associate several work groups to an operator ID?
Answer: Up to version 7.2.2, there is no use.
Now the question is: what about version 7.3 and up?
