Support JDBC driver ojdbc6.jar for Pega7.2.2 upgrade
We are planning to upgrade our application from Pega6.2 SP1 to 7.2.2 version. As part of checking the Pega7.2.2.compatibility, found that 7.2.2 supports Oracle JDBC driver versions ojdbc7.jar or ojdbc8.jar. Our application server is Weblogic 11g (10.3.6. PSU 12) and Oracle Database version is 11g R2 ( Proprietary information hidden).
Currently we have JDBC driver version ojdbc6.jar and as per Weblogic and Oracle guide it supports 11g version with this JDBC driver. However as per Pega7.2.2. Platform Support Guide, ojdbc7.jar is supported and ojdbc6.jar.
Please clarify and confirm, if we can go-ahead with ojdbc6.jar or we need to install ojdbc7.jar?

For 11g, you can utilize ojdbc6.jar. So you proceed with the same version of jar

The version of the JDBC drivers ojdbc6.jar that we plan to use with WebLogic 11g (10.3.6. PSU 12) and JDK 7 is the “Oracle Database 11g Release 2 ( Proprietary information hidden) JDBC Drivers” that can be found here on the Oracle website:

The JDBC driver version ojdbc7.jar that is included in the Pega 7 Platform PLATFORM SUPPORT GUIDE Version 7.2.2 is normally meant for an Oracle 12c database. It is possible to use this JDBC driver with WebLogic 11g (10.3.6. PSU 12) in combination with an Oracle 12c database (see https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/web.1111/e13737/ds_12cdriver.htm#JDBCA655). However it first has to be tested if this driver also works properly in combination with an Oracle Database version 11g R2 ( Proprietary information hidden). Also the configuration to use ojdbc7.jar with WebLogic 11g (10.3.6. PSU 12) is more complex than just updating ojdbc6.jar to the latest version that is certified with JDK 7.

Two Oracle driver versions have a bug which causes updates to fail in Pega 7. Do not use these versions: • Proprietary information hidden.0 • Proprietary information hidden.0
The current JDBC Driver version that we're using is Oracle Proprietary information hidden.0-Production JDBC 4.0.
Can you please confirm if we can this version of JDBC Driver? Also let us know if it is compatible with Pega7.2.3. if we go for update from 7.2.2 to 7.2.3. later.

As per the platform support guide jdbc driver version Proprietary information hidden.0 has the issues.Please do not use this version.
you can download any higher version of ojdbc6.jar file and issue it.
