Pega 7.4 Email Listener IMAP migration to Office365 alternatives
My application is currently running on Pega 7.4 and using an email listener configured using IMAP. We're looking to move away from IMAP to Office365; however, Microsoft has deprecated support for basic authentication with Office 365 and there don't appear to be alternatives options available in Pega 7. I have read the following link (https://collaborate.pega.com/discussion/microsoft-office-365-retire-basic-auth-support-imappop) which indicates upgrading is the only solution available. While upgrading is on our roadmap, the effort involved is relatively high so I am wondering if anyone has run into this situation and found another solution.

@nvkapHello Prasad, I realize that upgrading is the best course of action and we are actively pursuing an upgrade to Pega 8.6. I am more interested in understanding whether that is our only option or if there are other options available in the event we're unable to complete the upgrade in time.

@rwtaylor another approach will be to consume graph rest API and use the same for sending Email. but if incase you want to read mail via Email listener than definitely you need to upgrade.

The best course of action here is to upgrade to the latest Pega platform version to leverage native platform support for Microsoft Graph to connect to office 365 mailboxes. Moreover basic auth is also less secure and not a recommended option by Microsoft when connecting to Office 365 mailboxes. You would also be able to enjoy the benefits of all the new enhancements and capabilities added over the past few years since the release of 7.4.
