How to move case only to backward stages
Hi everyone,
I would like to know how I can move a case to any previous stage. For example, if I’m currently at the 5th stage, I should be able to move it back to any of the previous 4 stages that I select. It should only show the previous stages and not allow moving forward stages. Could you please guide me on how to achieve this?

You can leverage pxStageHistory to display the previous stages based on Stage history.

You have to build a custom logic to determine the stages that needs to be shown to the user based on the current stage.

You can use pyChangeStage local action to the user to change stage and customize the dropdown stage list from pxStageHistory only previous stages user can select and on submit user change the stage

@vinodkumarv1 When I use pxStageHistory for the first time, the dropdown correctly shows all previous stages. For example, if I'm in stage 5, the dropdown displays all the previous stages. However after changing from stage 5 to stage 3, When I try to change to a previous stage again, the dropdown incorrectly shows all 5 stages instead of just the first 2stages, Which is what I should display.

You can map the Stages in your Case Type to a order number in a decision table. (Assign a number to them in sequence)
You can then utilize the pyValidateChangeStage validate rule where you can throw an error if the order number of the pyGoToStage is greater than the order number of the pxCurrentStage.
