Stage is not moving from one to another .
Problem: I have a situation where we have 4 stages and an alternate stage :
Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4 |
Step 1 | Step1 | Step 1 | |
Step 2 | |||
Step 3 | |||
Alternate stage | |||
Step 1 | |||
Problem: I have a situation where we have 4 stages and an alternate stage :
Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4 |
Step 1 | Step1 | Step 1 | |
Step 2 | |||
Step 3 | |||
Alternate stage | |||
Step 1 | |||
Now when we launch an alternate stage from stage 2 at (step1 Suppose) and complete that alternate stage. The flow moves back to Stage 2 but when we complete stage 2 it is not automatic transitioning to stage 3. Is it the correct behaviour?

It is not working. And after thorough analysis, I found that as soon as I launch the alternate stage, the stage which launched it gets completed even if it has some assignments. After completing the alternate stage nothing happens.

Does your alternate stage is marked as resolution stage if not then did you tried to use a change stage in your alternate stage to go to the required stage after the completion of your alternate path.

No, the alternate stage is not marked as resolution stage and I tried to use pxChangeStage activity. But as soon as I complete the alternate stage the pxcurrentstagelabel shows the name of the next stage in series and the pxChangeStage activity throws an error that "change is the same as to the current stage".

From your comment and screen shot what I understand is that your configuration will be something like this :
When you launch a alternate stage from stage 2 at step 1 you need to have some flag set or you can set that in alternate stage too and use this flag as a entry condition of step 1 of stage 2, so fro the first time it will be false and you able to jump from step 1 to alternate stage. And after that when you again come to stage 2 from alternate stage the step 1 will be skipped and rest step will process and stage will move further.
Kindly do this configuration if it suits your requirment and see weather this helps or let me know if my understanding is not what you looking.

Issue got resolved after enabling Run on re-entry checkbox on the required stage.
Case Type --> Stages --> Settings--> Automatically launched processes --> Enable Run on re-entry
