Drag and Drop from Outlook Inbox directly to attachments of Case
Hi Team,
we have a requirement to drag and drop a mail / an item from Outlook directly to the attachments of a case. I already saw similar posts and got that this is not really a PEGA problem but rather a Outlook issue.
So I just want to know if there is any update on this topic or if you recommend specific (free) plugins to clients who have a similar requirement?

@CarlaG38 some drag and drop functionality is already available. See this description.
Users using systems before Pega 7.3 were able to drag and drop items from Outlook directly into the work object "attach file" dialog and the file details would be populated ready to be saved. These controls worked with ActiveX and as browsers developed their technology, ActiveX was slowly depreciated.
From Pega 7.3 and beyond, these ActiveX controls have been replaced with similar controls that are supported by modern browsers.
Although the drag and drop control that are now used do support drag-and-drop from the desktop, it does nothing when the user attempts to drag an outlook item directly to the control.
The Enhancement request that was logged to reintroduce this feature back into the modern drag-and-drop controls is FDBK-29216
It has not been included in the product yet.

I saw this community article discussing the possibility in Pega before 7.3.. But we are on 8.6.2 so do you have an idea for when the enhancement request is being planned to be relized.
The description you linked just refers to Chrome. I forgot to mention that our client only uses Firefox. I saw some plug ins for Outlook. Is there any you could recommend?

@CarlaG38 I contacted the SME and have asked them to take a look at your question.
With regards to the FDBK item - as I don't have visibility of timescales perhaps you could contact your Pega AE to see if they can find out whether this enhancement is still actively being considered.
Hopefully someone from the relevant product team will respond with some suggestions soon.
