Change Volume Constraint Reset Remaining?
Hi Everyone,
I want to know what Pega normal behavior is for the remaining values in a weekly or monthly volume constraint when the volume constraint is changed.
E.g.
- Offer A has a weekly volume constraint of 1000 and the remaining is 600.
- Volume constraint is checked out to add a new constraint for Offer B.
- Volume constraint is checked in.
After the check-in what should be the remaining value of Offer A? 600 or 1000?

Hi,
When the reset parameter at the rule level is configured to "All at once" with the mode specified as "Manually", or when the reset parameter is established as "Individually" with the individual constraint level reset interval set to "Manually", then the existing counts will remain unchanged in the event of any modifications to the rule, such as additions or updates like what you are attempting.
Conversely, should the reset parameter for any constraint be set to a mode other than "Manually", then any alterations to the rule will result in all the counts being reverted to their maximum limits. This full reset policy is applicable to the weekly option which you are using as-well. So in your example you will expect the count for Offer A reset to 1000 again.
Please note that there are considerations to refine this mechanism in future updates to allow for individual reset tracking across all modes. However, as of the current General Availability (GA) release, the reset behavior is as described above.
