Volume Constraint - ProgressiveOptimizationEngine

Hi,

The volume constraint in Pega uses the ProgressiveOptimizationEngine inorder to limit the number of offers delivered to the end customer. I however, did not find any documentation which provides knowledge on how the ProgressiveOptimizationEngine works. Can somebody please provide a link or some insights on the working of the function ApplyProgressiveOptimization and also how much intelligent is the Volume Constraint rule.
