Back up of system before upgrade
Pega upgrade is planned for the application from version 7.1.9 to 7.3.1. Followed below link for the list

For Backup, its been mentioned as below
- Back up the existing database, your applications, and the Pega 7 Platform rules.
- Back up any customized Pega 7 Platform configuration files, such as these files:
- prbootstrap.properties
- prconfig.xml
- prlogging.xml
- web.xml
- pegarules.keyring or any .keyring files with other name.
Question1: what does "your application and pega 7 rules" refers here?
Question 2 : How do we do that?(I assume "your application" is WAS-ear files and pega 7 rules as RAP file which contains all our applications).

Hello Nagaraj,
1)In Pega as we save all the engine related rules and customized objects (work,data) in database ,database backup is enough here .
However the link you referred here looks old ,you can follow the latest update/upgrade deployment and platform support guides from the PDN

2) Once your updated to 7.3.1 from 7.1.9 you have use the latest(7.3.1) archive from the installation media so which again requires you to configure the database related changes or any application related changes in the mentioned property files .
To avoid any loss in configuration wise you can take back up of these files from your application server(7.1.9) .
For Tomcat these files will be present in below path
….\webapps\prweb\WEB-INF\classes

One more Rest connector is throwing the exception after this change : javax.net.ssl.SSLException: hostname in certificate didn't match: !=.
