Availability of EAR media package of PRPC v 7.2.1.
Hi SMEs,
Can you please confirm if the EAR version of PRPC v7.2.1 is available or not?
In the installation guide found in the link below, it is mentioned that PRPC V7.2.1 comes both in EAR & WAR format. However, we have also heard a message that as of now, its only WAR version of PRPC v 7.2.1 is released by Pega Systems.

Please confirm the following -
1. Availability of EAR media package of PRPC v 7.2.1.
2. If it is not available right away, what is the tentative date by which the EAR Media Package will be available to customers.

Hi All,
I raised an SR 'SR-A87056' for this and got the queries clarified.
IBM Java SE 8 is supported in IBM Websphere Proprietary information hidden and above. So If you go for IBM WebSphere Proprietary information hidden then both WAR & EAR deployment and Java 8 will be supported.

Generally Pega releases distribution media which includes EAR & WAR to support web and application servers.
Could you please point us that from where did you find Pega releases WAR file only? Incase if you have 7.2.1 distribution media, you can check the same in archives folder.

I think WAR file would be available specific to IBM WebSphere Liberty( Proprietary information hidden or higher)(using IBM Java 8) version only. For remaining application server versions both EAR and WAR's are available.

Hi there,
That statement you quoted is only for Liberty profile which is a light-weighted Websphere deployment model. Ear deployment is supported for all other standard profiles.
