PRPC 7.2.2 EAR having duplicate deployment descriptor files

Hi

OOTB PRPC 7.2.2 files prpc_wls_jee4.ear and prhelp.war have duplicate deployment descriptors files. Please see a word document in attachment section for screenshot and details.

Its also observed that one of the two web.xml files in \prpc_wls_jee4.ear\prweb.war\WEB-INF\ has Kerberos/SPNEGO config and the other file does not. We are looking to integrate SSO with our application in near future and hence would like to get direction regarding action to be taken on duplicate files and the impact of choosing one version of file vs. the other?

Hi Naveen,

Thank you for posting your question on PSC.

Can you please delete the Web.xml and Weblogic.xml files which are of high size and
containing tags like <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd"> as a workaround?
 
This has already been raised with Product Engineering.

Thank you for quick response. We can follow this for weblogic-application.xml and weblogic.xml.

For \prpc_wls_jee4.ear\prweb.war\WEB-INF\web.xml, file version with DOCTYPE tag has SPNEGO/Kerberos configuration whereas the other file is missing this. I am assuming it is okay to merge over these configurations to the other web.xml file which you are recommending to keep?
