We have tried to use a custom Control Group for achieving the below requirement and have encountered that in-spite of setting the relevant properties for Control Group, we are observing Action Flows getting initiated.

Requirement:

The Business wants to put certain portion of the eligible customers in the Control Group. The outbound campaign also uses Volume Constraint rule and just because the Control Group offers are also a part of the Action flow initiation, the Volume constraint gets applied on the Control Group records as well, which is not right.

Steps that were executed for the above requirement:

1. Create an outbound/batch campaign 2. Set the below properties for custom Control Group records - MKTType, MKTValue and IsControlGroup=true 3. Run the campaign. 4. The Action flows get initiated for the customers in Control Group

As a workaround, we have done the following modification at the Action Flow level:

The Action Flow is updated with the Fork shape which checks if the Customer is identified as a Control Group customer. If yes, the Action Flow is forced to end.

But the challenge is that these action flows are also getting counted in the Volume Constraint which is not right.
