Issue
In the Pega Constellation UI, the Assignment ToDo Widget displays SLA deadline countdowns in a simplified, single-unit format, for example, "1 hr" or "2 days", rather than the full multi-unit breakdown available in the Traditional UI, for example "1 hour 59 minutes 32 seconds".
Symptoms
- The Assignment ToDo Widget in Constellation UI shows the SLA deadline as a single unit only (Days, OR Hours, OR Minutes, OR Seconds).
- When a case is moved to an assignment with an SLA configured in Business Hours (for example, 2 Business Hours), the SLA timer initially displays the correct value but then switches to a simplified single-unit representation (for example, "1 hour” ) within a few seconds of page load.
- The Traditional UI (UI Kit / Theme Cosmos) correctly displays the same SLA deadline in an expanded multi-unit format, such as "1 hour 59 minutes 32 seconds".
- Backend SLA processing, including pxGoalTime and pxDeadlineDateTime, is not affected by this issue. Cases are escalated and processed at the correct time.
Steps to reproduce
- Create a case type with an assignment-level SLA configured using Business Hours (for example, a deadline of 2 Business Hours).
- Create a case instance and move it to the assignment that has the SLA configured.
- View the Assignment ToDo Widget in the Constellation UI.
- Result: The widget initially displays the correct Business Hours value, then after a few seconds switches to a single-unit display such as "1 hour” losing the Minutes and Seconds breakdown.
- Compare this with Traditional UI, where users can implement the out-of-the-box (OOTB) pyAssignmentTimeLimitDeadline control which has the hover functionality to display the multi unit format.
Root Cause
This is a product feature gap in Pega Platform's Constellation UI. The Constellation Assignment ToDo Widget and associated native Constellation components are designed to display time intervals in a simplified, single-unit format (for example, "3 hours ago", "6 days ago") consistent with Constellation's modern, streamlined UI design principles. The expanded multi-unit time display (Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds) that was available in the Traditional UI (UI Kit) is not currently supported in Constellation's native components.
Solution
There is currently no workaround or configuration available to enable the expanded multi-unit SLA deadline format in the Constellation UI Assignment ToDo Widget.
An enhancement request has been raised with the Pega product team to evaluate adding an expanded SLA deadline format to the Constellation Assignment ToDo Widget in a future release. This document will be updated when a fix is available.
