Reg HFix-9120 to support Oracle DB Upgrade from 11g to 12c version for Pega 6.3 SP1.
We received a HFix-9120 to support our Oracle DB Upgrade from 11g to 12c version for Pega 6.3 SP1. They have mentioned that the hotfix needs to be imported after the upgrade to 12c since the HFix-9120 is for PRPC v6.3 SP1 support for Oracle 12c (Pega Platform 6.3 SP1). The question is, if we do the DB upgrade without the hotfix, will it cause any issues during the application start up OR the application startup doesn't really depend on what is there in the hotfix and it is ok to import it after that?

You must apply HFix-9120 prior to upgrading Oracle from a previous version (for example, Oracle 11g) to Oracle 12c; otherwise, the PRPC engine will not start.

I checked HFix-9120 for you and saw the below information:
Scenario 1 - Updating an Existing PRPC 6.3 SP1 instance and then Upgrading to Oracle 12c
1. Apply HFix-9120 to PRPC 6.3 SP1 using Update Manager (see the attached DL).
Important Note: You must apply HFix-9120 prior to upgrading Oracle from a previous version (for example, Oracle 11g) to Oracle 12c; otherwise, the PRPC engine will not start, and you'll need to follow the steps in Scenario 3 below to recover from this condition.
2. Upgrade Oracle from your previous version to Oracle 12c.
Thanks Susan for the response. This is the response I got from the support team member who worked on the SR to get the hotfix - "Please import the hotfix after the upgrade to 12c since the HFix-9120 is for PRPC v6.3 SP1 support for Oracle 12c (Pega Platform 6.3 SP1). ", But, are you saying we should do the other way around (import first and then upgrade the DB) ?
