window.showModalDialog API is not working in Modern Browsers(Chrome & Edge)
When we use window.showModalDialog to open the modal dialog window it is not working in modern browsers(Chrome & edge).showing below error
"the OpenUrlInDialog API and the window.showModalDialog API are no longer supported by this browser. Replace this function by an auto-generated local action."
Kindly suggest us other approaches to work in both all the browsers(IE, Chrome, Edge)

So I'm guessing using the auto generated approach to present the modal isn't possible for you right? Why do you need to call it this way exactly?

Google Chrome has removed support for showModalDialog in Chrome version 37 in 2014. Firefox has also removed support for this API. The explanation for removing this api is available here: http://blog.chromium.org/2014/07/disabling-showmodaldialog.html and https://dev.opera.com/blog/showmodaldialog/
This issue has been reported in Pega 7.1.7

The recommendation is to remove this custom JS and use auto-generated action to render the modal dialog.
