Yes, for example, the OOTB DNodeType of 'Search' is defined to be used for nodes that handles search functionalities. I can imagine you can designate a nodetype of Custom1 to handle SMS delivery. You can actually define the applicable node types using -Dapplicablenodetypes, see this link for details: https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/performance/node-classification

I don't quite understand the difference between -DNodeTye and -Dapplicablenodetypes settings?
Currently I'm using DNodeType to dedicate each node to its function.
Can you explain it to me and give example?
