VMWare / VirtualBox URL not working for CLSA course

I am attempting to run the downloaded exercise for the CLSA Online training. (LSA_731_VM_20171026). I am unable to reach the URL that is displayed in both VMware and VirtualBox. In the web browser (tried multiple browser), it states "Cannot reach site".
I have also tried the SAE I and SAE II exercises, and they both DO work in both VirtualBox and VMware (version 14). Only the URL for the LSA exercise system does not work.
For the LSA exercises, I have tried all types of network adapters (Host, Bridged, NAT), and have run as administrator. The URL that is diaplayed is a valid URL (usually something like http:// Proprietary information hidden:9080) and can be pinged. I have also tried adding /prweb/PRServlet as an extension, also not working.
I have also verified the system settings are the same for SAE I, SAE II and LSA exercises.
As a side note, when this file loads in the VirtualBox virtual machine, it does not specify a Type (Linux/Windows) or Version (64 bit) by default, where the SAE I and II both do specify those values by default.

Hi,
I am also facing the same issue as mentioned by SNELL2012 above. I have tried all shorts of combinations with the adapter settings. Other VMs are working without any problem for the same settings. My machine running on Windows 10 OS.
I have gone through all the posts related to this VM issues on PDN and tried out each and every option. Even tried connecting to different networks (mobile hotspot networks).The issue remains the same.
Note: I assigned 2 GM as RAM for the VM in Virtualbox as my machine's total RAM size is 4 GB.Not sure whether it causes any issues.
Appreciate any help on this.

For me, it turned out to be two issues:
1. Memory. Even though it said I had enough memory, it was stretching my PC to its limits. If I reduced the memory required, it did not help.
2. Microsoft surface. Basically, I ended up replacing my MS Surface with a new PC. Once I purchased a new PC (an HP) I had no issues with this. My new PC has 16 MB of RAM and can accommodate this exercise system with no problem.
Just a side note.. I have had MUCH better luck running with VIrtualBox and NOT VMware. By changing the networking in VirtualBox to local instead of bridged I have been able to run every exercise system out there.

The main problem with the 7.3, 7.4 CLSA Exercise system is that it is running out of memory due to FUA (first use assembly) being performed on the initial startup. Once FUA has completed, the memory requirement drops to just over 4 GB. There is 2 GB disk swap configured on the system so you may be able to get by with 2.5 GB allocated to the VM (after FUA is completed) but increasing it to 10 GB will help if you have the resources. The amount of memory used can be monitored by login to the console as root/install and issuing the top command.
To get the system to startup without error increase the memory allocated to the vm to at least 10 GB. If you receive an out of memory error, restart the VM and monitor progress using the top command. Eventually FUA will complete and memory requirements will drop.
You can also prevent the jenkins service from starting as it is not used to save more memory. This is done as follows:
login to the console as root/install and issue the following commands:
service jenkins stop
chkconfig jenkins off
The VM can then be restarted.
NOTE: A 7.3 Linux Lite VM has been created which reduces the memory requirements to less than 5 GB and includes a desktop and chrome browser in the VM itself. This can be downloaded here.
