http://:9080 URL on VMWare
Hello There,
I'm trying to have the PSV installed on my personal laptop, I have done a couple of these in the past, but now that I'm trying to install the CSSA one, I'm having some issues, the principal is that after dowloading the .ova file and installing the VMWare I'm not getting the complete Pega URL, instead I get "http://:9080" and that's the whole URL.
I'll appreciate your help on this.
Regards,
JC

JC,
Please let us know if this is a repeat to your issue posted here: https://collaborate.pega.com/question/problem-lsa-pvs
If not, it's likely a network adapter setting. Try 'Bridged Adapter' setting. For more information, please review the VM User Guide attached.

Hi JC,
Choosing the "Bridged Adapter" setting on virtual box merely may not resolve your issue. You can choose the adapter setting on Virtual box as same as available network connections on your Windows (Network Connections/Change Adapter Settings and see the available ones). In my case, i chose 'host only adapter' then the 'http://:9080' issue got resolved.

Hi,
I'm unable to select host only adapter, it shows invalid settings detected. If i start it with bridged adapter then it shows only http://:9080...

Hello,
Your screenshot shows that there is no host only adapter available. You can either add an adapter or uninstall and try reinstalling the VM following the instructions in the SSA course. You can also try any other adapters that are available to your VM. If these do not work feel free to send an email to [email protected] with your most recent screenshots and we may need to schedule a WebEx to take a look at your client settings.

Hi,
Choosing "Host-only Ethernet Adapter" option resolved this issue for me. Once after making this change I am able to see URL with IP address and port #.

Hi,
I have noticed that this happens when the VM is unable to get a DHCP IP from the router (some routers/networks block it or there could be a multicast/unicast issue).
I got around the issue by manually changing the networking config of the VM from DHCP to Static IP (choose a free IP in your current private ip range) and it worked. See http://www.mustbegeek.com/configure-static-ip-address-in-centos/ for help on how to set it up.
Hope this helps.

Agreed - this worked for me too. When using this mode, you do not want to be on the Pega VPN either as it stops you from connecting.
