You can put pauses between the required events in your automation.

Pauses should not be used for this.  Use a WaitForCreate and choose the appropriate timeout value to allow your automation to adjust to slow loading sites. 

When you attempt to solve a timing related issue with a pause it may work, but a Pause always uses the time you tell it to pause and then continues whether it should or not.  A Wait is different in that you tell it the absolute longest you are willing to wait but it will only wait as long as it needs to and will give you a true/false result which will allow you to handle conditions where the automation should not go forward.
