Setting up Archival from the Case Type settings: Questions: 1. Where is Archived record stored? What is called secondary storage? Is it Pega Cloud File Storage? 2. How can we make Archived record active again? 3. We have a requirement that a case marked as Legal Hold should not be Archived or Purged. How can we accomplish this while still using Archival and Purge from the Case Type settings. 4. Where can we find more info about pega.performArchive() and pega.performPurge().

@MarcLasserre_GCSCase Type archival does not seem to be eliminating the need to Purge and Archive wizard.
Case Type archival does not do purge it seems, then pyPegaPurger is used by Purge and Archive?

Case Type Archival uses:
pyPegaArchiver (archives cases on Cloud)
pyPegaIndexer (changes status to Pending-Purge where case was successfully archived)
pyPegaPurger (Purges all records with status Pending-Purge)
They must be run in that order to complete the full Case Type Purge/Archive.

@MarokS31 @SARAH GODFREY @MarcLasserre_GCS Please note that the documentation is updated (a lot) in 8.5, so please refer to that instead of the 8.4 for now: https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/system-administration/85/improving-performance-archiving-cases
The 8.4 documentation for archival would also be updated in a few days. The archival/purge functionality is the same from 8.1 to 8.5.
Support for legal hold is on the 8.7 roadmap, where clients can exclude cases from archive/purge and then remove them from the exclusion, report on which cases are excluded, etc.
