Reindexing elastic search PRPC 7.1.7
After reindexing "Work" completed the Check diagnostic messages displays as follows;
Note: Number of Documents and Primary size are small because this is from our Dev environment. We also see this in or Production environment.
However, searching for work items appear to be working as expected. Do we need to be concerned about Work Index File Unavailable Or Corrupted?

If the state is shown "Available" and you still get this message means that the index file has not been completely built. Doing a full re-index from the search landing page will fix the issue.
