Real Time Event
HI,
I am working with real time event where in NBAD I created a real-time event(like foreign transaction) and mapped it with sales/credit card issue group. Please note no outbound campaign is associated with this event.
My goal is to send Credit card proposition in outbound channel whenever I receive the above mentioned event from source system.
I checked the OOTB event payload and it doesn't contain any direction/channel.it only contains event name,Event type,customer type,date latitude and longitude.
I am using OOTB realtime event Dataflow and corresponding strategy which gets generated automatically once I save in NBAD channel.
So my questions
1. How the strategy will understand in which channel the credit card proposition needs to be sent.I mean where the direction is getting set? Like in realtime container case we are receiving channel and direction in container service and it also have an response associated with it but for realtime event ,the event service doesn't have anything like that
2. Is it mandatory to have campaign/outbound schedule to execute real time event?

When a realtime event is received, the NBA strategy framework is run and uses the Outbound direction by default. (If no direction is provided, all active Outbound channels will be considered as part of Arbitration process and the best channel/treatment is selected)
Within NBA Designer, you do not need to define an Outbound Schedule to use realtime event triggers. When an Event is received, the strategy framework is executed for the customer that triggered the event and the best response (action) to that event will be initiated.

I was trying to find where the direction is getting set and I checked the framework strategy but I am unable to find that. Is this set in any of the following places
1. Activity(Handlemktevent)
2. Dataflow(Auto generated)
3. Top level strategy?

@victorWhen there is no Direction set, this will be true for Outbound schedules, the CreateEligibleChannels strategy will create an Action for each active outbound channel and set the pyDirection and pyChannel. You shouldn't need to worry about how this happens as it should just work this way.

@SethRobinson I have a question about the same scenario mentioned above...in my current project we are receiving a real time event and we want to respond with an action via outbound email.
In the IH will have 2 records: one recording the event and one for the action. should the direction for the event be Outbound ? I was under the impression that Events are inbound calls into CDH.( see below in red).

@SilviuStefan Events always get responded to via an outbound channel such as email which is why the event IH entry has this direction. The actual event isn't really considered inbound/outbound but we record it as Outbound as that's how we'll potentially respond to it

@SethRobinson thanks that is really answering my question however at my current project an Event is considered as an Inbound because it is coming via another system ( eg call centre).
To mark the event as inbound I have changed the following strategy(EventTriggerIH) and pyDirection got updated for the event.
