Placeholder is not customizable in cell while implementing dynamic select to dropdown
Hi All,
We are working on Migrating Project from version5 to version 7.1.9.
Existing configuration: In pega version5, we have implementation where we have used Dynamic select.
Migrated configuration: In order to replicate same configuration in Version 7, We have used Drop down and we are taking data from Database tables. In dropdown, Placeholder is not customizable.
Approach: we have created SR(SR-B15400) for this too but we have been told this is product related, so Product Community team will work on this.

Hi Sahil,
From what I understand from the attached document, you want to place a message "No results found". I think we can add a field value for placeholder in dropdowns.

The dropdown in Pega 7 does have a configurable placeholder as shown below (yellow highlight). However there is not a special placeholder for when no options are available in the drop down.
It is not very user friendly to show a drop down when there are no options to select, so instead of showing an empty dropdown, you could disable or hide the dropdown when there are no results using a when rule (as shown below in green highlight)
If you really want to see some kind of message that says "No results found" then you could configure a hidden layout containing this message that will only be visible when no results are found for the dropdown (i.e. the reverse of the NoResultsFound when rule example above).

Hi Sahil,
I verified the status of the SR and understand that there is active investigation progressing on the SR. To avoid duplicating efforts, you may continue troubleshooting on the SR and update the thread with the resolution at a later point in time.
The resolution will benefit many users who face the same issue.
