Pega Upgrade approach

Hi,

We are planning to  migrating from Pega 7.1.7 to Pega 8.5, can help to provide this one is the best approach?

 

1. Install Fresh instance of Pega 8.5  and run upgrade script on data schema

2. Running upgrade script on both RULES and Data Schema

 

Note: The size of existing application stack is around 1GB and keeps growing.

Hi Jai,

You should upgrade both rules & data schema. For subsequent environments, you can chose to deploy rules from previously upgraded environment via RAP and then continue with data only upgrade for data schema.
