Pega OCR support for Optical Mark Recognition in IVA for Email or API

I was wondering if there was any known support for Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) as apart of Pega OCR in IVA for email, or through Pega OCR via API. We are looking to identify check boxes or radio buttons in documents passed through our IVA email channel, and was wondering if this functionality exists through IVA as it was introduced along with PDF Connector 2.0 in the Pega Robotics 19.1 family of products.

Hi Tim,

The newest version of the Pega OCR component and engine available on Marketplace contains support for OMR. Historically it was not available within Linux version of engine itself.

However please be aware of the limitations that OMR feature of FineReader has. In fact it is not able to automatically detect checkboxes but instead programmatically you need to define region where to find checkbox and it's type (rectangle, circle, etc).
