Pega 8.4 React UI runtime environment

Hi,

I have a question on exact steps to enable the React UI environment. I followed the article https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/whats-new-pega-platform/explore-react-ui-runtime-environment-84 but it seems to not have detailed steps. I have done below changes in Pega labs 8.4 environment but could not find a way to launch the react UI preview

Option 1:

1) Created a new application in Pega 8.4 which is built on core pega platform , enabled 'Support React-based UI' option on the application rule

2) Updated the DSS pega-uiengine!constellationsvcurl as /prweb/constellation , assuming that Pega labs should use the load balancer

3) On UIservice service package , 'Requires Authentication' was unchecked , so did not enable it

4) Logged in with admin user and changed to App studio or logged directly with user credentials who has access to app studio  , none of the option launches the ReactUI preview tool

 

Option 2:

1) Created a new application in Pega 8.4 which is built on COSMOS , enabled 'Support React-based UI' option on the application rule

Rest of the steps remain same.

If you are using pegalabs, please check with the admin to see if the constellation service is configured or not. Normally you have to run a docker container to start the constellation service: https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v84/procomhelpmain.htm#designer-studio/installing_the_docker_container_with_react_ui-tsk.htm
