passing pipeline(|) as an parameter in pyargs in the pxExtractDataWithArgs activity

we are trying to pass pipeline (|) in pyargs parameter in the pxExtractDataWithArgs activity
Param.pyArgs == "-l '|' -L '|'"
But activity is throwing an error as Invalid parameter. Could you please let me know if anyone used this parameter in the pxExtractDataWithArgs acitivity and which is working.
