Out of Place Migration from Pega 6 to Pega 7.2

I wanna do a poc on out of place migration fromPega 6 to Pega 7.2 but i am unable to find the exact low level step by step guide for the same, and in the document provided for out of place migration --a temporary db is used what is the use of same and how that can be acheived?

temporary DB  is required only if you are doing an out of place upgrade with two databases. in your case you can goahed and do the out-of-place upgrade with one database.

Pelase refere to "Moving to Pega7" course in Pega Academy which will give you the clear idea about it.
