Open assignments for a resolved completed case

I came across an implementation, where they are resolving the case, but it still has an open assignment.

As far as my knowledge goes, this ain't a good practice, as when we resolve cases, we should ensure there are no open assignments.

Please let me know your views on this.

Agree. By definition a resolved case is one with no open assignments. The pxForceCaseClose activity can be called to close irrelevant but still open assignments when a case is asked to resolve.
