Not able to install Pega 7.x personal edition post download from PDN site

I downloaded Pega 7.x personal edition from my pdn account. However when I double click on Install option, the command box opens and then suddenly dis-appears, I cannot view the error message either. My laptop has 64 bit windows configuration with almost 4 GB free RAM. Can somebody please let me know any possible resolution for this? Thanks in advance.

Have you unzipped the media and run the installer from the unzipped files?

Also, what version of Windows are you attempting this on? I believe Personal Edition will only work with Windows 7 at this time.
