@Debasis can you confirm that you downloaded the PE zip from your My Pega - My Software?
Are you following the Installing the Pega Personal Edition steps?
Are you installing on a Windows machine?
Could you carry out a search on the PSC for the pg_ctl 'directory does not exist' error?
There are some useful suggestions in other forum posts such as this one , this one and this one.

@MarijeSchillern Really Thanks for your response.
Please find the answers in line.
can you confirm that you downloaded the PE zip from your My Pega - My Software? ==>Yes
Are you following the Installing the Pega Personal Edition steps?==> Yes
Are you installing on a Windows machine? ==>Yes
Could you carry out a search on the PSC for the pg_ctl 'directory does not exist' error?==> Yea, it's there under the path(PRPCPersonalEdition\pgsql\bin).
I tried on multiple Windows systems but same issue.
Kindly let me know if any details required on the same to fix this. Thanks again.

@Debasis I'm afraid I've run out of ideas, apart from suggesting you carry out a full debug of your application server logs. Make sure your user has full access to the install drive locations.
Did none of the other links I suggested provide you with some troubleshooting steps?
Try Deleting pegaGuiInstallerTemp file and install again
Use latest version of pgadmin then proceed to install.

@shanp is this an error that perhaps you've seen before?

@MarijeSchillern is there any good news to resolve it? I followed all of your shared links as well as multiple steps which I got over internet, sorry, no luck.
Is there anyone/team from Pega who might help over email/chat/call, please suggest.
Thanks in advance for your help!

@Debasis I'm sorry to hear that the issue still remains.
I'll try to find someone who can help decipher these Postgres DB installation errors.

@Debasis I've had our SME look into the possible root causes. As they cannot replicate it (using a 64 bit version of Windows 10) it seems some clashing directory access issue on your end.
For a list of supported versions, see the Platform Support Guide."
- Make sure you completely uninstalled your previous postgressql installation and try restarting your system.
- Update jdk with latest version and make sure system variables are correctly pointed to your jdk version(https://community.pega.com/support/support-articles/71-personal-edition-installation-error)
-
run the installation with admin rights
-
change the root folder.
If you still face the same issue try changing the database port number to 5433 or some available port.
--> Instead of running on directory 'D:/' can you run on 'C' drive?
The errors start occurring here:
Expanding D:\Softwares\Pega\..\Temp\PE.zip into D:\Softwares\Pega\PegaActivities\PRPCPersonalEdition System cannot find directory D:/Softwares/PegaActivities/PRPCPersonalEdition/pgsql/data
See other user log files (all 'C' drive)

Try below steps:
Try to proceed with the installation after installing VC++ runtime on Windows Server https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
1.Clear Pega entries in regedit
2.Reinstall with different port no 8053

Hi @DebasisP16710288: Can you please check the below post. There is a suggestion on installing "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" to make this work.

In case you are not able to successfully install PE alternatively You can try installing VMWare and import ova file (which you can get from the LSA module) https://academy.pega.com/topic/pclsa-mission-challenges/v3/in/44551/45806

Retirement of Pega Personal Edition
The Pega Personal Edition was a download of the Pega platform designed to work on a laptop or personal PC. It included a Tomcat web server and a PostgreSQL open-source database.
However, with the advances of Pega’s underlying infrastructure, it is no longer feasible to maintain and publish self-contained VMs running our product. Additionally, as Pega is now a Software-as-a-Service company, it makes sense to move to a similar model for our field consultants to use in demos and proof-of-concept systems (POCs).
Therefore, we encourage you to leverage the Community Edition.
The Community Edition (available here) is a trial version of the Pega Platform designed for use as a dev sandbox. It’s the perfect place to explore the latest version, learn and refine Pega skills, build POCs, etc. A Community Edition system is issued for 30 days, and can be self-extended by an additional 15 days. You are always welcome to sign up for another Community Edition system when you need one. You can export any applications that you build, so you can import them as a starting point in the future.

Working on Community Edition will not impact client environments, and allows you to triage issues in the same way as our enterprise edition.
Since the Personal Edition involves installing the supporting open-source components (the web server and database), it is no longer representative of Pega’s current technology. Our architecture design has become more complex, and cannot be replicated on a single, one-click-to-install desktop image. Instead, by taking a SaaS approach, all Pega Community Edition Cloud systems are standardized on a single architecture, removing the need to configure specific custom settings from client to client.
For employees, and also approved Partners and clients, PegaLabs is available as a longer-term option, designed for use by small teams with more access to back-end tools such as installing strategic apps or trying different platform versions. See here for more information.
