Moving from Pega 7.1.9 to Pega 7.3.1 is an Upgrade or update?
I have referred Pega 7.3.1 update guide and found that its "UPGRADE'i f i move from Pega 7.1.9 to Pega 7.3.1.
In some post, its been referred as "UPDATE".
there are some confusion around this. Please clarify

Hi Nagaraj,
If you are moving from 7.1.7 to 7.2 version then you need to go for Upgrade, but if you want to move from patch version(7.1.7) to another patch version(7.1.9) then you should perform update.

Please share the document and create an SR for document error with GCS, to officially register this issue.

Just to clarify your doubt,
Upgrade:-
Moving from any previous versions of 4.x, 5.x or 6.x to 7.x is an upgrade. In this case, there is a change in the major version (PRPC 5.x, 6.x to 7.x).
Update:-
Moving an application from any Pega 7.x version to latest version(for ex 7.2 to 7.3) is an update.
Note:-
- Though, the user can do an update/upgrade both for moving Pega 7.1.9 to 7.3.
- It's not recommended to do an upgrade in your case, as upgrade script additionally does have 7.x rulesets available, thus not required when migrating within 7.x versions.
- Updates are smaller and faster than upgrades.

I want to make it clear that if you’re major version are changing like if your moving from 5.x or 6.x to 7.x version it’s called as upgrade .
If your moving from 7.x to any 7.x version it’s called as update .
Also I have checked the 7.3.1 update guide below is the difference mentioned
If you need to move from any version prior to Pega 7.3.0, you must upgrade. (This is not clear –we will check for the documentation error if any )
To move from any Pega 7.3.x version to the most current release, you can either update or upgrade.
