Pega Upgrade from 7.1.9 to 7.4
Hi,
Our client is planning to move from V7.1.9 to v7.4 . So, due to simplicity in In-Place upgrade, We are thinking to Upgrade the Development system using the in-place upgrade process. Please share the pros and corns.
- What preliminary checks we need consider during the upgrade process?
- what steps we need to verify after the upgrade process ?
- Our current system has many hot fixes (v7.19) we deployed for addressing product issues and performance issues? will there be any impact for those post upgrade ?
- Was there any major changes to the Rules and data schemas between these versions ?
Please share your valuable inputs at the Earliest.

We have already gone though the upgrade guide, but there was no much information available related to the In-Place upgrade. Also could you please share some suggestions on the above requested questions.
Also moving from 7.1.9 to 7.4 is it ok to go with update or do we go via upgrade ?

Thanks susanliu for replying and the information shared.
only the query is below is the point mentioned in one of the post.
Updates manage superseded hotfixes.(‘force.ml.update=true’ can be added anywhere in setupdatabase or directly run the command ‘update.sh –force true’ to update forcefully.)
Query : Does the hotfixes which are deployed and commited will also be replaced or only which are uncommited will be washed out ?
