Upgrade PEGA 7.1.9 to PEGA 7.3.1

We recently upgraded some of our PEGA 7.1.9 servers to PEGA 7.3.1 following the PEGA 7.3.1 upgrade guide. Is there any functionality benefits of upgrading vs updating beside those mentioned in the PEGA 7.3.1 update guide?

There is no additional functionality delivered if you choose to update over doing an upgrade (or the other way around). The primary difference is the size of the media and how long the process takes. An update is advised over and upgrade when possible for those reasons.
