Maximum number of child cases a parent can have in pega?
We are planning to have 2500 child cases.
Is it advisable?
is there any hard stop or best practice around the maximum number of child cases in pega?

That sounds like a strange design right. I don't think there is real restrictions about the number of child cases, what platform version is it?
So an open Parent case will not be closed until its 2500 child cases got resolved? Long life cycle I guess.

Sry for delayed reply I was on vacation.
Its pega 8.4.1.
Below is our use caes
we will upload an csv file with maximum 2500 rows and each row has to be created as a case and has to go through a life cycle and get resolved.
we are reading the csv in an queue (async) and creating the child cases.
We are having issues when the cases cross 200.
what would be the best design or way to handle this situation.

Is there any max number defined to create a child cases. We are also having same requirement, but having same issue when the child cases count is crossing 200.
Is this issue resolved for you. If resolved can you please help me.
