We are looking for a solution for the below mentioned issue.
In the 7.1.9 application, on the click of a button the external application is being launched via IE browser version only(url frame for launching code written in Java script).
Now the IE browser is going to end of life in 2 months.
Hence the external source application has come up with new solution of implementing the batch file to launch the source application.
So from Pega application, on click of a button should open the external application via batch file
Please confirm, Is it feasible to incorporate the batch file via section rule of html area?
If feasible, please let us know the approach to implement ?
1 - Implementation to execute the batch file or
2 - execute directly the jar file (without a batch)

@srinivasR9168 Letting browser run a local program thru java script would be a huge security risk. IE had Active script options to perform this but it is no more available in any other browsers.
You can store the bat file on the server and create a link to the location the file is stored and clicking on it would prompt/initiate a download on the client. But user have to manually execute the .bat file. Though this is possible option, it would not pass your security teams scrutiny.
I would recommend to get this requirement assessed by your security team and proceed once you get the clearance from them.
