Launch optional action on click of a button

I need to launch an optional action on click of button instead of accessing it via action menu. Is it possible and how to achieve it?

@MarcLasserre_GCS  Thanks for your Reply Marc. I am updating some of work object details via optional process in a particular stage. But whatever update that we do via optional process is reflected only after manual refresh. Any suggestion or insight?
