Issue with Pega Personal Edition installation 7.3.1 - [exec] pg_restore: creating VIEW "rules.pwbv4_rule_overrides"

Everytime I try to install the Pega Personal Edition 7.3.1, the installation doesnt proceed after this point

[exec] pg_restore: processing item 459 VIEW pwbv4_circumstance_duplicates
[exec] pg_restore: creating VIEW "rules.pwbv4_circumstance_duplicates"
[exec] pg_restore: processing item 460 VIEW pwbv4_rule_locking
[exec] pg_restore: creating VIEW "rules.pwbv4_rule_locking"
[exec] pg_restore: processing item 461 VIEW pwbv4_rule_overrides
[exec] pg_restore: creating VIEW "rules.pwbv4_rule_overrides"

This is part of the log. I dont see any other errors in the logs. The only odd thing that i see is that this happens during the database installation and in the background i see 4 instances of PostGRES running.

Also, I have checked for spaces in the installation directory, firewalls removed for the ports specified. Nothing worked.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Deepika,

If you have tried installing multiple times you should try clearing the whole database and then retry.

Also could you please cross check once if you are following the below installation guide properly:

Hi Vikash,

Thank you for the response. I have tried to clear the DB instances and try again. Still did not work. 

Will go through the document again and confirm. Can you tell me how do i set the path for JDK though?

Hi Deepika,

Setting the path should be simple. Please refer below
https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/webnotes/install/windows/jdk-installation-windows.html#path

However for the issue that you are facing can you share a bit more of logs or complete logs if you can attach.
Sometimes Installation doesnot work because of space availability issue with Temp directory. Clearing %Temp% directory may help as well.

Path has also been set and retried but still no luck. Please do let me know if you have any more thoughts or if possible send screenshots of what needs to be done as a step by step process in case I am missing something.

I am also facing a same kind of issue , installation getting struck after this 

[exec] pg_restore: launching item 4492 TABLE DATA pr_sys_queue_execreq_conn

Any idea why is it happening ?

I do not see anything in the log files too. Nothing in the errors tab as well. 

I am thinking if this has something to do with the postgres installation. Is there anyway I can install it separately and run the installation without it?

I faced the same issue, it is happening because of the anti virus or firewall you installed. It is blocking the "pg_restore" file, so please try to install after deactivating the anti virus software and turning off the firewall. It worked for me.

Note : Extract the downloaded Pega personal edition Zip file again and try install from that.
