How to Install Pega 7.3.1 Personal Edition?
I am trying to install Pega 7.3.1 on my personal computer but the database connection is not getting successful.
System Config:
1. Windows 10
2. RAM - 4GB
3. Oracle 11g R2
4. Error while connection - Exception testing connection:
IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establis the connection
5. JDBC Driver Class Name - oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
6. JDBC Driver JAR file - ojdbc7.jar
7. Database JDBC URL - jdbc:oracle:thin:@//localhost:1521/dbName
8. Rules Schema Name
9. Data Scheme Name
Please help to setup.

Hi Sinhal,
When you configure the database connection, you must follow the following format:
jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:port:SID
I assume that the URL is incorrect and that is why you are unable to establish the database connection. Please verify the URL by checking in the context.xml file. Attaching a screenshot of the same.

It would be great if you could share any document for fulfilling these steps / requirements.
I am quite new to this, so might be missing while creating "Rules Schema" and "Data Schema".

Hi Sinhal,
As per the screenshot which you had shared, you had not provided the RULES and DATA schema names in "Rules Schema Name" and "Data Schema Name" fields. Please enter the RULES and DATA schema names in these 2 fields, then try the Test Connection.
Also in your URL jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:dbName -> you can try this format and replace dbName with your database name where you created your schemas.
Hope this changes will fix your issue, if not share me the latest issue after applying this changes.

I have tried replacing dbName with my Database name but somehow that could not helped either.

I would like to know whether you are installing the personal edition or standard edition of Pega 7.3.1?
If you are trying to install personal edition then the installation process is different as explained over here.
If you are trying to install the standard edition with the Single/Split schema concept you can look for the reference document over here. You can refer the specific document based on your Database and Application Server.
Hope this might help you to understand the installation process.
