How to use EditAttachments Flow Action?
We are using Pega 7.4. In the help documentation it says that we can use the Work-.EditAttachment flow action to open and edit file attachments in a case.
I've added EditAttachment as a local action for my case. After adding an attachment, I chose the action from the actions menu. It presents a table and instructs the user to choose an attachment. After choosing an attachment nothing happens. If I click the Submit button a new attachment record is added to the case but it's an "empty record". How do we use this flow action to add a new version of an existing attachment?

I tried in both Chrome and IE 11. Is there documentation that explains how it should work? Does it only work in IE 11, perhaps with certain settings enabled? Does it only work for certain types of files?
My expectation was that I would be able to select an attachment and then upload a new version for that attachment, perhaps I have the wrong expectation? It's frustrating that the help documentation lists it as a supporting rule you can use for attachments but I can't find any detailed documentation on how it works.

I tried with a text file myself. I can open it and edit it. What type of attachment are you working with? I think you right, it seems to be working fine on IE11 but not so much on Firefox. I will try Chrome maybe.

I was trying with a Word document and a few other types of files. I just tried with a text file, in both IE11 and Chrome, with the same results. When I click on the attachment nothing happens. Is it supposed to open the file?
Again, the most frustrating thing is that there doesn't seem to be any documentation on how it works / how it should be used. I'm investigating this because I was asked if Pega provides a capability to allow users to update attachments with versioning. This FlowAction looked like it had potential to satisfy that out of the box. It looks like I'm going to have to say that Pega does not provide this capability out of the box. Without documentation it's impossible to know if Pega provides the capability my customer is asking for.

It is constantly working for me on IE11. I just tried with a Word document and working again:
Actually I'm using [email protected], by default you can create a basic process, add an attachment and use EditAttachment Local Action there.

Thanks for looking into this. Even if I could get it to work in IE11, if it only works in that browser but not other modern browsers I don't think I can recommend using it.
Is there any other way to add new versions of the same attachment? We don't necessarily need to launch the application to edit the document as long as someone can choose an attachment and upload a new one, and it's clear that there is a new version for that same attachment. My assumption is that we would have to build something custom to achieve that. Correct?
