How to customise the welcome message in PEGA Web Chat on launch
Hi,
Client wants us to show an menu on bot launch. Tried configuring it in system responses, but it didn't work.

There is not @AkhilGangadharan. Prior to 8.7, the display message configured in Digital Messaging Manager Web Messaging settings is what will appear in the chat first.

Go to the chat-bot which is there in channels and interfaces and there you can see the welcome message. There you can customise the message.

@P.Siva.Praveen U mean in behavior tab right ? I tried that didnt work. Only in preview console it shows up

Hello @AkhilGangadharan, this is configurable from Platform/Customer Service 8.7+. In prior versions, the Web Messaging display message will appear in the chat first.

If you open your chat bot configuration, go to the Behaviour tab, and configure the Welcome option this should work. This can be configured to be any response type you want. I built my menu using the Custom response type (How to create advanced replies in WebChat | Support Center (pega.com)), but the standard menu response should work too.

@Phill99J Hi Phill, great article by the way thanks for sharing. But like I mentioned previously its working in preview console.
But not on the actual website which is hosted in AWS.

Ah ok - are any other changes in your bot configuration reflected such as any other responses or wording changes?
Doesn’t sound like the menu is the issue itself but more the client side seeing your latest bot configuration.
