Getting BUILD Failed error while updating to 7.1.9 from 7.1.7
Hi,
Getting build failed error while updating from 7.1.9 from 7.1.7. It says that a couple of rules were updated after the release was built. One of which we got through a hotfix on 7.1.7.
The error message is :

Caleste is partially right. There is a setting given in update guide but the property is not already present in the setupDatabase.properties file.
The solution that worked for me while running from Unix is :
./update.sh --force true
This command will force the update to run and whatever rules are there in the update package will overwrite the newly created rules.

Seems the rule changes for HFix-23973 is still not fixed in 7.1.9 and is fixed in next version (7.1.10) but that is not availabel for public. So it will be available in 7.2.
May be another hotfix would be required for 7.1.9 for same issue. (though am not very sure, will check internally and get back to you)
Regarding PegaRules, i feel it should not be an issue as its 06.02.25 . In your current 7.1.7 system also if you serach you should have more RULE-APPLICATION PEGARULES say in 07.10

I found this in the update guide:
"Updates manage superseded hotfixes: The update process contains specialized error handling
for superseded hotfixes. If your system contains a hotfix that is newer than the hotfix provided in
the update, the update automatically exits. Contact Pegasystems Global Customer Support if you
need to force the update."
Please let me know how can I force the update.

In the update guide it tells you how to force the update when running the UI tool in the section "Running the update deployment tool" by setting the force.ml.update property to true in setupDatabase.properties file. You can actually set the same property (force.ml.update) if running the command line script or as this article says you can set the force flag to true on the command line as well.
